Alyssandra was born the bastard daughter of a German noble and his italian mistress on campaign in the alpine region. As she grew up, at the age of 9 her mother passed away and she became orphaned at an abbey in the Tirolian alps. The clergy there was not much pleased at having a female on their hands, but, as she was useful and obedient, she was allowed to stay for a time while attempts were made to locate next of kin in Italy. The monks tolerated her love of painting and script and taught her these things. Violent disagreements amongst the local nobility turned ugly as the abbey got sacked one summer day. Alyssandra became Alex upon her flight from her somewhat home. Crossing the mountains to Ravenna, she hoped to find her mothers kin. Alas, this hope came to naught. She banded with other strays in Ravenna and eventually took on odd jobs in the main market. The housekeeper and stewart of a rich merchant took interest and brought her to the estate of Sir Alexander to be part of the main house. In a few years time, Alex the boy grew to 5'7" and it was time to begin training at arms. Accompanying her Master on a journey to Rome, the party was ambushed and Alex was hurt severely. Alexander left her again in the care of a religious house. Once healed, Alex decided to take arms as a mercenary and began her journeys across Europe and other far lands. Many a place, a home and friends she has known to date, and the tale does spin itself.
