Ivarr was born near Hof in Iceland in 970. While sailing overseas on a raid, he encountered Rus vikings and chose to sail with them for a time. Later he traveled to Byzantium where he joined the Varangian Guard upon its formation in 988. Now he serves under the Arch-Duke Baldar Langstrider.
